Mary Sayler - Owner
I have been teaching Jazzercise for 22 years and am the owner of the Aurora Center. I graduated college with a BS degree in Special Ed. and have a MA Degree in Educational Administration. I have a wonderful husband of 32 years and two children. I love animals, the beach, music, optimistic people, honesty, making a difference and living life fully. I am very committed to health and fitness and find it hard to imagine doing anything else but what I'm doing now ! Words to live by: Strive to be the best you can be / Attitude is everything ! |
Deb Elliott
Hey there! I have been involved with Jazzercise for 11 years and an instructor since April 2000. I am extremely passionate about Jazzercise and the benefit that it offers to a person's mind, body and soul. I am a 34 year old mother of two girls, ages 6 and 2. My girls are my life. I have been married to the same wonderful man, Michael since 1998 and we love to ride our Harley together and hang out with our family and our dog Yoshi. I have an AAS in Accounting and worked in the financial industry for many years before having a change of heart and deciding to go into healthcare. When I am not teaching Jazzercise, I work at SkyRidge Hospital in Labor and Delivery as a Multi-Skilled Tech and am currently in Nursing to get my RN. Personally, I love mafia/ganster movies, bikers, some good rock and roll, anything that scares the crap outta me and Big Hunk candy bars. |
Wendy Somers
Wendy has been teaching Jazzercise since October 2004 and loves when her students "woo hoo" in class. She recently graduated from the Art Institute as a graphic and web designer and has started a freelance design business. She spends her days teaching high-school math and her free time entertaining her dog, Shamrock. |
Linda Viray
Born and raised in the Philippines, I've lived in Denver for over 25 years. My husband David and I have two Welsh Corgis, Opie (the monster) and Bat Boy. I've been an instructor since July 2004. In my spare time, I teach English as a second language to immigrants and refugees. |
Ja Nell Harden
I started dancing at two years old and have training in jazz, tap, ballet and lyrical. I graduated from Colorado State Univeristy with a Business Degree and concentration in finance. Since college I have been a stay at home mother with my two boys. I started Jazzercise in 2003 in Washington state, and certified as an instructor in 2005 while living in Maryland. |
Katie Roadcap
My name is Katie and I became a certified instructor in April 2007!!! I only started going to Jazzercise in 2004 but quickly fell in love with the music and the way it made me feel. My very first instructor tried to talk me into going to workshop and it only took three years to convince me. I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and moved to Colorado in 2003 after taking an extended leave of absence from New York University. I have been married for 3 years and am currently a full time student at the University of Denver pursuing a BA in Theatre and a MBA in Not-for-Profit Management. In my other life I am a theatre professional working in multiple theatres in and around Denver, including Curious Theatre Company and the Mizel Center for the Arts and Culture. |
Cheryl Herrington
I just became an instructor in 2007. I had been Jazzercising 8 years before that. I started Jazzercise because I loved to dance, but hated to exercise. I became an instructor because now I love to exercise! I have been married for 10 years to my husband Todd, and have two children, Nathan and Lexie, and two Basset Hounds, Subwoofer and Blue. In my “spare time” I work part time as a tax accountant. |
Lory Nasalroad
Hello all, my name is Lory Nasalroad and I have officially joined the ranks of Instructor October of 2007. I had been a Jazzercise student for 7 years prior and have loved every minute of it! As an instructor I hope my passion for Jazzercise shows in every class I teach. I want you all to enjoy your work out and to keep coming back. It truly is one of the best times of my day. My Husband Steve and I are both Colorado natives and have been married since Nov. 1997. Currently I am employed by our 2 boys, Jacob and Zachary (most of you have seen how fast they are growing up), and our 2 huskies, Mickey and Allie (awesome dogs but very hairy!). I love the outdoors, I do not like being inside unless I am cooking. In summer our family enjoys taking road trips to all the small towns in Colorado--this year I was one of 3 First Place winners in the Olathe corn eating contest, 13 ears in 8 min (something to be bragging about huh!) We also like camping, fishing and hiking the typical Coloradoan things to do. Winter time we usually try to take a short trip to a warm climate. My words to live by are "It's not what you have, but how you live." |
Julie Christiansen
My name is Julie Christiansen and I have been a Jazzercise instructor since February of 2008. I have participated in Jazzercise classes for more than 20 years taking a short break during college. I am a gradate from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Accounting. I earned my CPA license and now work for Great-West Life. I was born and raised in Wyoming and have lived in Denver since 1989. My husband Kip and I were high school sweethearts and have been married over 18 years. In our spare time we like to cook and travel. I am active in my church and enjoy attending theater productions at the DCPA. |
Stephanie Serff
Hello, my name is Stephanie Serff. I have been attending Jazzercise classes for about 2 years and I absolutely LOVE it! What a great way to workout!!! After attending numerous classes at locations over the Denver Metro area, I thought…why not, become an instructor. So, I was certified in January of 2009. I am excited to get started teaching here at the Aurora Center, everyone has welcomed me with open arms and I love it! When I am not Jazzercise-ing, I work full-time for a home building company, spend time with my husband and try to keep my two rowdy dogs under control. I just recently got married and being a newlywed is amazing!! We have two dogs that keep your time pretty well occupied, but they are starting to become calm-submissive members of our pack. And they also make a great audience when learning new Jazzercise routines. Lastly, I am a Technical Training Manager that manages a team of Multimedia Developers who create online interactive tutorial for the employees at our company. I just recently graduated with my Masters Degree in Adult Learning and Curriculum Design and hope to use this to create fun, interactive training for adults. Also, I have to mention that I am a Colorado native…since there are not many of us left. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve your fitness goals! |
